Kit Focus: Seraphim & Zephyrim

The new Adepta Sororitas Seraphim and Zephyrim models are available to pre-order from Saturday. Today, we’re taking a closer look at this kit that will bring down the Emperor’s judgement on wings of fire.

Do you like jump pack units that brandish dual pistols? Do you like kits that leave your bits box heaving with new additions after you’ve assembled them? Then you’re going to love the new plastic Seraphim kit. This lets you build and customise one of the most iconic Warhammer 40,000 units ever as well as having a brand new unit as an alternative build – the Zephyrim.

The Seraphim kit comes with bolt pistols, inferno pistols and hand flamers. Not only does this give you amazing options for the squad, but since you get the full arm they require very little conversion to be used with any other Adepta Sororitas models. And, of course, you can never have too many flamers!

Each Seraphim also has a choice of heads so you can choose whether you want them to have a helmet, a bare head or even special breathing apparatus. The latter were designed to be used with the hand flamer wielding Seraphim, but they look so cool that we wouldn’t blame you for using them on any model that you like.

All of these heads are designed for specific models but by removing the little peg on the bottom you can easily use them with any other Adepta Sororitas squad.

This is a wonderfully dynamic kit, full of a sense of motion. Our designers have worked really hard to make sure that the models look exciting and fast, so they’ve added loads of little details such as tabards, purity seals and even braziers that billow behind the Seraphim as they charge forward.

The kit also features lots of optional extras, including extra purity seals, chaplets and prayer books, allowing you to really personalise your models. Even after you’ve built your soaring Sisters, you’ll have plenty left to decorate your other models – perfect for anyone building an Inquisitorial warband perhaps.

The Zephyrim are a more close-combat orientated unit – each Sister is armed with a power sword and befitting her role as elite jump troops, they have even more ornate jump packs than their sisters in the Seraphim.

The Superior in the Zephyrim squad has an option to be equipped with a Zephyrim pennant. So, if a squad of death-dealing angels aren’t awesome enough, this one also had a flag that’s on fire!

You also have a choice of icon to add to the top of the Zephyrim Superior’s jump pack. There is one for each of the six main Orders of the Adepta Sororitas and two more general-purpose ones, letting you easily customise your model.

Regardless of whether you choose to build the Sepharim or the Zephyrim from this kit, you’ll be left with loads of lovely spare bits to scatter around the rest of your army as you see fit. Surely, the God-Emperor has truly provided!

Finally, the kit comes with something that every self-respecting Adepta Sororitas unit needs – a dove!

You can pre-order your own dove (and the unit that comes with it) from Saturday. In the meantime make sure you head over to the Citadel Colour website and check out this week’s videos on how to paint Battle Sisters – the techniques are also perfect for the Seraphim and Zephyrim models.
