The ranks of the Death Guard continue to swell, and this week, you’ll be able to bolster your Legion with some elite warriors, a brand new character and a classic villain reinvented for a new millennium of war.
The Foul Blightspawn is a close assault specialist, designed to devastate enemy fortifications with gouts of toxic sludge from the plague sprayer. With d6 automatic hits, 2d6 Strength, -3 AP and 3 Damage, this weapon is potentially devastating, even against vehicles, and is perfect for dealing with heavy infantry. Of course, no infantry is quite as heavy as the Blightlord Terminators. These ancient warriors are even more durable than their loyalist brethren, clad in nigh-impenetrable (if decaying) Cataphractii armour and bolstered by fell energies. On the tabletop, these guys have a variety of roles – teleport in and wreck a tank with combi-weapons, sit back and hammer the enemy from afar with the reaper autocannon, or just get stuck in with a range of new melee weapons like the Flail of Corruption.
Of course, we couldn’t upgrade the Terminators of the Death Guard and leave a certain, very famous, Terminator-armoured Death Guard character behind. Typhus, the Herald of Nurgle, now has an awesome new model to match his awesome new rules. Clad in a gigantic, plague-ridden suit of Cataphractii armour and surrounded by a roiling vortex of insects, this guy is the perfect leader for your Death Guard army, containing the martial prowess of a Lord of Contagion and psychic power of a Malignant Plaguecaster in one grotesque package.
